James C. Hull, Sr. , 76, of Milan, passed away on Sunday, January 25, 2015 at Rock Island Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Rock Island. Funeral services will be 1:30 pm Friday at Wheelan Pressly Funeral Home, Rock Island. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Burial will be in Rock Island National Cemetery. Memorials may be made in care of the family.

James was born on September 6, 1938 in Seymour, Iowa , the son of Thomas C. and Mary Russell Hull. He attended Moline public schools and enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps. Following his time in the Marines he married Judith Hageman. James worked at John Deere, the City of Rock Island Maintenance Department and took up roofing as a side job. He was a past attendee of Mission Covenant Church, Moline and a proud Marine Corps. League member.

Left to cherish his memory are his children, Jennifer (Mel) Austin, W. Burlington, Iowa, Shelly (Gabe) Jackson, Champaign-Urbana and James C. Hull, Jr. Davenport; stepdaughter, Lonnie Hageman; 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; sisters, Carol Gotthardt, Rock Island, Donna Taets Grieve, Geneseo, Mary K. Williams, Moline and Ruth Miller, Rock Island.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Thomas Hull; step-daughter, Sherri Frost and a sister, Sandra Kellett.
