Obituary

James "Jim" L. Sibley, 77, of Moline, passed away Thursday, January 27, 2022, at UnityPoint Health-Trinity, Bettendorf. Visitation will be 4-6 p.m. Friday, February 4, 2022 at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 201 E. 4th Ave., Milan. Following visitation, a memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Inurnment will be at a later date in Rock Island Memorial Park Cemetery.

Jim was born on December 3, 1944, in Kewanee, son of Clarence "Bud" Sibley Jr. and Loretta "Peg" M. DeSplinter. He married Marsha M. Benson, who preceded him in death in 1971. Jim worked in various occupations, primarily in insurance. Jim was a member of the Carl Whitmore Tri-City Classic Bowling League for 14 seasons, where he also served as commissioner of the fantasy football league. He also enjoyed playing golf, cards, watching movies, and spending time with family.

Those left to cherish Jim's memory include his children, Connie Hill, Davenport; Tim Sibley, Moline; Todd (Zona) Sibley, Moline; Shelly (Chris) Kuehlem, Sandwich, IL; stepson, Matt (Kendra) Lloyd, Carmi, IL; thirteen grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; and many cousins and friends.

Jim was preceded in death by his wife, Marsha; and parents.
