James P. Meeker, 89, of Milan, passed away Sunday, October 11, 2026 at his home.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, Milan is assisting his family with arrangements. Memorials can be made to his family.

James was born September 23, 1937 in Moline, the son of Paul and Esther (Carlson) Meeker. He married Nancy Johnson on September 5, 1959 in Moline.

James retired from Sears and later Best Buy.

James enjoyed videos, having invigorating discussions and spending time with his wife.

Survivors include his wife, Nancy; children, James Meeker, Jr., Milan and Kimberly (James) Williamson, Arrowsmith, IL; and grandchildren, Katherine, Cady, Hayley and Corey. He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Meeker and sister, Marjorie Reed.
