James C. Murray, 48, of Rock Island, died Thursday, November 3, 2016 at his home.  Cremation rites were accorded.  A celebration of life gathering will be from 1-2 pm Thursday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island.  A graveside ceremony will follow at Rock Island National Cemetery, Arsenal Island.  Memorials may be made in care of the family.

James was born June 8, 1968 in Moline, a son of James R. and Carol R. Nichols Murray.

Survivors include his siblings, Pete Harrison, Waukesha, Wisc., Therese Roof, Colorado Springs, Colo. and Joshua (Heather) Murray, Davenport; and nieces and nephews, Kasey, Kailee, Macara, Luke, Elizabeth, Brennon, Emily, Genevieve and Audrey.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Scott Harrison.
