James S. Sprouse, Sr., 67, of Rock Island, passed away Sunday September 6, 2015 at Unity Point Health- Trinity, Rock Island.
In accordance with his wishes no visitation is planned. A private family service will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Rock Island Fire Department. Arrangements are entrusted to Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, Rock Island.
James was born August 14, 1948 in Fairfield, IA, a son of Ramon S. Sprouse, Sr. and Hannah M. (Bostwick) Sprouse. He was married to Rochelle Wisdom. She preceded him in death on September 11, 2008.
James was the service manager at Penske Auto Center, Rock Island. He was passionate about the family campsite, NASCAR, his family, friends and his dogs.
Surviving are his loving companion, Linda Richardson, Rock Island; children, James S. Sprouse, Jr. and Jennifer Sprouse-Buckholtz, both of Moline; grandchildren, James III, Rebekka, Kaylee, Scott, Amanda and Drew; great-grandchildren, Cameron, Lilly, Jaxson, Serenity, Zaylee, Kaiden and Christian; brothers and sisters (and spouses), Ramon E. (Verna) Sprouse, Silvis, Steve (Jan) Sprouse, West Branch, IA, Jack Sprouse, Honey Creek, IA, Judy Liles, Sherrard, IL, Joey Sprouse, Omaha, NE, and Berna Lynn Kuhns, State of Washington; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
James was preceded in death by his parents, wife and two brothers, Jon and David Sprouse.
