James Earl Teague Sr., 77, of Davenport passed away on Tuesday, August 9, 2022.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, August 19, 2022 at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island. Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 am on Friday at the funeral home. Burial with military honors will be in Rock Island National Cemetery, Arsenal Island. Memorials may be made in care of the family.
James was born on May 12, 1945 in Rock Island, a son of James and Sharline Teague. After high school he went on to join and serve in the United States Army from 1964 to 1967 during the Vietnam War, where he earned a Purple Heart. He was united in marriage to Karen Teague and she preceded him in death on February 2, 2022. James worked as nurse in several different facilities throughout his career.
His hobbies included reading, cowboy movies, music, playing sports (especially high school football), and serving the lord alongside pastor Hattie Moore in Springfield, OH.
Those left to cherish his memory include his children, James Earl Jr. (Rose) Teague, McConnelsville, OH, Kibibi (Thomas) White, James Sr. (Jodi) Woods, and Andrea (James) Sammons, all of Springfield, OH; grandchildren, Vanessa Teague, Izabella and Izaak White, James Woods II, and Genesis Denise Maynard; siblings, Dennis (Patrice) Teague, Seattle, WA, Leon (June) Teague, Davenport, Brenda (John) Ewing, Rock Island, Courtney (Ruth) Peeples, South Carolina, and Kenneth (Yevgeniya) Teague, Everett, WA; and several nieces and nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Karen; and son, Timothy Teague.
The family would like to give special thanks to the staff at ProMedica Nursing and Rehabilitation in Davenport for their care of James.
