James Richard Vetter, 44, of Moline, returned to his Father in heaven on Friday, June 24, 2016 following a massive coronary attack. Services for James will be 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Milan. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday at the Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, 201 4th Ave. E., in Milan. Interment will follow the funeral service in Rock Island Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made in care of the Wounded Warrior Project.
James was born on September 27, 1971 in Moline, the son of the late Gale L. and Sally Raschke Vetter. He graduated from Rock Island High School in 1989, where he was a four year member of the Speech team and played Bass guitar in the Rock Island Pep Band. He also won several trophies as an elementary student participating in Modern Woodmen Oratory Contests. James graduated from Augustana College in 1993, majoring in Political Science and Public Administration. He was a member of the Pi Upsilon Gamma Fraternity. Following graduation, James moved to Upland, CA where he was employed by Beneficial Finances. He returned to Moline in 2005 and was employed by Group O's Samsung support division.
James enjoyed history, especially visiting and walking Civil War Battlefields. He was well known by his co-workers for his vast knowledge of trivia. He was a loyal St. Louis Cardinals and Green Bay Packer Fan.
Left to cherish his memory are his mother, Sally, Milan; brothers, Lawrence Vetter, Rock Island and Thomas (Michelle) Vetter, Rock Island and nephews, Cameron and Cole Vetter.
He truly loved his family and friends and will be surely missed.
