James M. "Wallygator" "Kidder" Anderson, 80, of Milan, passed away Saturday October 25, 2014 at Unity Point-Trinity, Rock Island.
Memorial services will be 12:00 p.m. Saturday, November 8th, at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, 201 E. 4th Ave., Milan, where visitation will be 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 8th. Inurnment will be at Preemption Cemetery, Preemption, IL. Memorials may be made to the family to be designated later.
James was born June 5, 1934 in Rock Island, a son of Axel and Mabel Manthe Anderson. He graduated from Rock Island High School, Class of 1952. Jim and Joy E. Proksch were united in marriage on November 24, 1956 in Milan. She preceded him in death on February 5, 2014.
Jim worked for John Deere Plow and Planter Works for 31 years. He was a member of U.A.W. Local 434. Following his retirement in February of 1994, he enjoyed playing golf, fishing, yard work, and feeding the squirrels and other animals around his home.
Some of his favorite times were those he spent with his family. He loved to cook, especially breakfast, his favorite meal of the day.
Survivors include his children (and spouses), Tammy (Jon) Johnson, Lynn Center, IL, and Tim Anderson, Milan; daughter-in-law, Geri Anderson, Rock Island; grandchildren, Justin (Marissa) Johnson and Amanda (Daniel) Marshall; step grandchildren, Elizabeth (Taku) Maturure, and Jake (Allison) Blade; great-grandchildren, Austin, Ellie and Olen; step great-grandchildren, Mariah, Gianna, Adelynn and Jason; brothers, Glen (Dee) Anderson, California, and Ray Anderson, Moline; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Jim was preceded in death by his wife, Joy; son, Steve Anderson; parents; sisters, Doris McMullen, Verna Carpio and Mabel Nelson; and brothers, Lester, Arlie "Shadow" and Axel, Jr. Anderson.
