James T. Widdop, 79, of Milan, passed away Sunday, August 22, 2021 at Select Specialty Hospital, Davenport.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, August 27, 2021 at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Milan.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to service.  Burial will be at Beulah Cemetery, Orion.  Memorials may be made to the Rockridge High School Academic Achievement Awards.

James was born on September 22, 1941 in Moline, the son of Thomas and Edna (Brummer) Widdop.  He married Linda Elzey on August 6, 1960 at First Baptist Church, Moline.  James graduated from Moline High School and received a bachelor's Degree in Accounting from Bradley University in Peoria.  James was the treasurer for Montgomery Elevator for 39 years.  He was a member of Reynolds United Methodist Church.  James loved to fish, spending time with his family, coaching, and attending his children's and grandchildren's sporting events.

James is survived by his wife of 61 years, Linda Widdop, Milan; children, Lisa (Marty) Gray, Milan, Jim (Connie) Widdop, Milan, Jeff (Dana) Widdop, Milan, Liane (Todd) Freyermuth, Illinois City, and Lorry (Todd) Wilson, Milan; grandchildren, Jeremy (Jackie) Gray, Rock Island, Krista (Billy) Mohl, Tampa, FL, Ashley (Brent) Schurr, Sherrard, IL, Chelsey (Mike) Blodgett, Verona, WI, Danielle (Nick) Osterhaus, Milan, Dara (Richie) Garcia, Colona, IL, Drew (Craig) Scharer, Milan, Dalinda (Brandon) Loomis, Reynolds, Tyler (Shelby) Freyermuth, Illinois City, Mia Freyermuth, Illinois City, and Mike and Thomas "TJ" Wilson, both of Milan; 20 great grandchildren; and cousins, Pat and Charlie Linberg, Peoria, IL.  He was preceded in death by his parents, aunts and uncles.
