Janan I. "Jan" Tacey, 67, a resident of Generations at Columbus Park, Chicago, formerly of Rock Island, died Friday, Sept. 16, 2016 at the nursing center.

A memorial service will be 6 pm Thursday at the Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island.  Visitation will be 4 pm until  service time Thursday at the funeral home.  Memorials may be made to Generations at Columbus Park, 901 S. Austin, Chicago, IL  61644.

Janan Irene Tacey was born March 27, 1949 in Rock Island, a daughter of William and Irene Anderson Tacey.  She graduated from Rock Island High School in 1967.

Jan had been a member of First Lutheran Church, Rock Island, where she sang in the choir and had been president of the Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church (WELCA).

She loved to bake, especially Swedish Tea Rings and Swedish Rye Bread, which she learned from her parents, and which she gave as presents at Christmas.

Jan also enjoyed flower gardening, playing the piano and going for rides in the car with her sisters and parents and singing WWII songs.  As one of the "Tacey girls", she loved to sing with her sisters, "we are the Tacey girls".   People loved Jan's sense of humor.

Survivors include her daughters, Krista (Bob) Graff and Amber (Ben) Urek; son, Brent (Tina) Stubbs; sisters, Sue (Jim) McGuire and Robin (Jim) McCarthy; stepbrother, Jay Froude; stepsister, Paula Severtsgaard; eight grandchildren; one great granddaughter; several nieces and nephews; an aunt, Jeanette Tacey; and several cousins.  She was preceded in death by her parents; niece, Thea Mink; nephew, Seth McCarthy; and stepbrother, Kurt Froude.
