Jane Ellen McGinnis, age 67, of Rock Island, Illinois received her heavenly wings August 30, 2024, at Rock River Hospice & Home in Sterling, Illinois, surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with brain cancer. A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, September 9, 2024, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Old Oaks Winery at 10814 1st Street West, Milan.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Jane's name may be made to the Quad City Animal Welfare Center. Jane was born July 18, 1957, in Washington, Iowa, to Edward John and Bonnie Clark Evans. She was a 1975 graduate of Rock Island High School and a graduate of Illinois Central College with a degree in Dental Hygiene.  She retired in 2021 from Dr. Christopher Larsen's dental practice after her diagnosis.  She truly loved working for Dr. Larsen and her many dental patients. Jane's family would like to express their gratitude to Dr. Larsen and his family for all their support during this time.

She enjoyed boating, camping, travel, time with family and was a huge animal lover.

She is survived by her two children, Amy (Brian) Croegaert and Matt McGinnis, brother Roger (Jeri) Evans and four grandchildren, Charlotte, Kylie, Jonathan and Waylon.

Special thanks to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, her doctors and staff at Unity Point Health in Moline throughout her almost 3-year battle.  Heartfelt appreciation to Rock River Hospice & Home's entire team for treating Jane with dignity and much love in her final weeks.
