Janet Booker was reunited with her darling daughter, Kathy Ann, first born son, James "Bub" Booker, and loving husband, Don, in the early morning hours of a warm, blue-skied April day.

Janet Ruth was born at home on January 2, 1937 to James and Blanche Bebber. The second of 2 girls. She was proud of her Rock Island roots and continued to cheer on her alma mater, The Rock Island Rocks until her last days. She attended school in Rock Island and married Billy Hall (deceased) and later Donald E. Booker. Together they raised 5 beautiful children: Pam, Cyndi, Jim, Jeff and Jon. Jan saw a great deal of new-fangled inventions in her lifetime, but probably her favorite was the television set. She would park herself in her rocker recliner on Monday nights to watch WWE Raw and Friday night Smackdown, faithfully. When she wasn't cheering on her favorite wrestler, you could find her with her good friends, Elmo and Bonnie playing the penny slots at the casino, or gin rummy at her kitchen table with one of her many grandkids. She was fortunate to work alongside her 2 daughters, Pam and Cyndi as a CNA and as an independent care-giver at Friendship Manor, where she later resided. Jan experienced heartache of the worst kind early on, with the loss of her infant daughter, Kathy Ann, and later in life with the loss of her son, "Bub". She never allowed that heartbreak to define her love; as a matter of fact, she chose to love more; her love was completely unconditional.

Per her wishes there will not be a funeral service but a Celebration of Life will be at a later date. A graveside service for family and friends will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, April 29, 2023, at Memorial Park Cemetery, Rock Island.

She leaves behind her children, Pam (Joe) Lage, Cyndi (Mark) Wells, Teresa (Lisa) Tourney, Jeff (Tammy) Booker and Jon (Shannon) Booker, 16 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and special and loyal friends, Elmo Quillen and Bonnie Ruff.

She was preceded in death by her parents, spouses, Billy Hall and Donald Booker, her beloved son, James D "Bub" Booker, sweet baby daughter, Kathy Ann Hall, step-son, Randy Booker & sister, Darlene Johnson.
