Obituary

Jason C. Dean, 39, of Milan, passed away Friday, July 3, 2015 at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City, following a very courageous battle with leukemia.
Services are 10:00 a.m. Thursday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, 201 E. 4th Ave., Milan, IL. Burial will be at Preemption Cemetery, Preemption, IL. Visitation will be 4:00 p.m to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the family to be designated later.
Jason Charles Dean was born February 2, 1976 in Rock Island, a son of Charles W. and Debra A. Dean. He graduated from Sherrard High School in 1994, and later from Universal Technical Institute. He married Elizabeth "Beth" Gossen on March 14, 2009 in Las Vegas, NV.
Jason was employed at Kraft Foods- Oscar Mayer plant in Davenport , where he was a maintenance mechanic and a member of the United Food and Commercial Workers Union, Local 431. He also owned Grasshoppers Lawn and Landscaping, and Deano's Inflatables.
He was an avid deer hunter, enjoyed barbecuing and cooking, and loved traveling, especially to Mexico. His greatest joy was time spent with his children and family. He will be fondly remembered as the "Kid Magnet" of the family.
Surviving are his wife, Elizabeth "Beth", of Milan; children, Noah, Lauren, Austyn, Colton and Liliana, all at home, "Diesel" his dog and faithful companion; parents, Debra and Terry Swain, Milan; brother, Charles "Chuck" Dean, Milan; nieces, Madison, Paisley, Leah and Ashlyn; loving aunts, uncles, cousins; mother-in-law, Cyndi Brobst, Silvis; and sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Jamie and Derek Burkeybile, East Moline.
Jason was preceded in death by his father, Charles W. Dean; Grandpa and Grandma Beam, Grandpa and Grandma Swain, Grandpa and Grandma Dean, and nephew, Hunter Dean.

Jason's family wishes to express a special "Thank You" to all of the Team Jason supporters and followers for their love and support during this difficult time, and also to Dr. Stewart Garneau and staff, Dr Margarida Silverman and all the nursing staff on 7RCS in Iowa City, all of whom took exceptional care of Jason.
