Jason was born on April 7, 1973 in Ottawa, IL. He is the son of Paul and Sandy (Goben) Strandberg. Jason married Amy Gordon on January 16, 1999 at South Park Presbyterian Church, Rock Island. He graduated with a BS degree in Psychology from Marycrest International in 1997, and received his Master's in Business Administration from St. Ambrose University in 2000. Amy and Jason met at Marycrest through their soccer teams. He worked in sales / daily operations for Certified Restoration Dry Cleaning Network.
Jason's two biggest passions were his family and soccer. He loved sharing his love of roller coasters with his two children. He would always make it to the kid's activities, whether it was Seth playing soccer, or Liv, performing theatre or playing in the band. He also enjoyed playing Xbox with his children and friends. Jason and Liv loved watching various shows together, and catching a good laugh. Jason enjoyed getting the family together for family game nights and other activities. He always felt like Amy's siblings were his own and loved them all. They even allowed him to participate on their softball teams. Soccer was another passion of his, starting at the age of 5 and played throughout college. He played for Moline High School, Marycrest College and traveling teams too. Once Seth was old enough to play he made sure he was the coach of his traveling soccer team for years, and after he was done coaching, he enjoyed being a spectator as well. During his coaching years he positively impacted many of the children's lives. Jason and Seth were big English Premier League Soccer fans.
Jason was an animal lover and every once in a while, would surprise Amy and the kids with a new cat. His two fur siblings, Elliott and Lucy Rose, always looked forward to his visits, sitting by the front door waiting for his arrival. While at his parents' house, they enjoyed watching NASCAR, especially the Daytona and Talladega races. Jason's favorite band was Pearl Jam and was a big Star Wars Fanatic.
He loved his family and children so much, along with his many friends!
Jason is survived by his wife, Amy Strandberg; children, Seth and Liv Strandberg; parents, Paul and Sandy Strandberg; father-in-law, Terry Gordon; brother and sister in-laws, Peter (Gen) Gordon, Benjamin (Cassie Briggs) Gordon, and Allyson (Jason) Willits; and multiple nieces and nephews.
