Jason E. Phillips, 53, of Davenport, passed away Tuesday, January 17, 2023, at Genesis-East, Davenport.

Funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM (Noon) on Friday, January 27, 2023, at the Pentecostal Church of God, Davenport, with visitation hour prior.  Burial will be at Pine Hill Cemetery.  Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory is assisting the family with services.

Jason was born on July 24, 1969 in Rock Island.  The son of Jimmy Carr and Barbara Phillips.  He married Vernice Coleman on October 5, 2002.  Jason worked as a forklift driver for Alters Recycling, Davenport.  Jason always cared about others, so after his passing he did the gift of organ donation.  Donating his kidneys to somebody in need.

Jason is survived by his wife, Vernice Phillips; mother, Barbara Luten; father, Jimmy Carr; children, Charles, Cherylonia, Jason, JayShaun, Stephon, and LaVon; numerous grandchildren; and siblings, Lori (Ricky) Taylor and Cle (Libra) Phillips.  Preceded by his father, Lawrence Luten; brother, Ketchum Lavelle; and sisters, Lesa Harlston and YeVonne Scott.
