Jayne B. Lomas, 75, of Rock Island, passed away on Thursday, November 6, 2025, at home surround by love.
A funeral service will be held at 12:00 pm on Monday, November 17, 2025, at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island. A visitation will be held prior to the service from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial will be in Chippiannock Cemetery, Rock Island. Memorials may be left in care of the family.
Jayne was born on November 15, 1949, in Mexico, Missouri, a daughter of Harry and Deslena (Brooks) Graves. She married Ray D. Lomas Jr. on August 16, 1986, and he preceded her in death on November 20, 2015. Jayne retired from Rock Island School District 41 after 14 years of service.
Jayne was a member of Greater Antioch Baptist Church in Rock Island. She enjoyed long walks in Sunset Park and taking her grandchildren to the park. Her whole life revolved around cheering others up, especially her grandkids. She was a very generous, honest, and straight up genuine person. Jayne enjoyed music, the occasional sip of wine, and buying things for her grandkids.

Grey, Lorain, OH, Renee Devine-Lomas, Temple, TX, Raquel Burroughs, Houston, TX, Sherina Jones, Torrance, CA, Rolanda Jones, Port Arthur, TX; 21 grandchildren; a host of great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins; and 2 special friends, Johnny LaQuin-Graves and Maryann Blue.
Jayne was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and nine siblings, Shirley Kemp, Mamie Williams, Harrylee Graves Jr., Beatrice Troy, Harold Graves, Howard Graves, Billy Graves, Sirrelous Graves Sr., and Delores Graves.
