Jean M. Kaskadden, 94, of Rock Island passed away on Saturday, April 1, 2023 at Silver Cross Nursing Center, Rock Island.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, April 15th at St. Marks Anglican Church, 1550 7th Ave, Silvis. Visitation will be from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm Saturday, April 15th at the church. Inurnment will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Food and fellowship will be provided at church following the inurnment. Memorials may be made in care of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Unity Point Hospice, or Samaritan's Purse. Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island is assisting the family.

Jean was born on April 5, 1928 in Moline, IL, a daughter of Frank and Marie (Johnson) Shrader. She married Richard M. Kaskadden on January 31, 1947, and he preceded her in death on November 2, 2002. Jean worked as an in-home daycare provider for many years before becoming a typist at the Rock Island Arsenal.

Jean was a longtime member of Trinity Anglican Church in Rock Island.  As a faithful member she was very active in the church community and member of the alter guild for many years.  Jean was a wonderful homemaker, wife, mother, and grandmother.  She loved working with the flowers in her yard and traveling the country with her husband in their motorhome.  Her hobbies also included photography and reading.  Jean will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Pamela Gustafson, Rock Island and Kenneth (Linda) Kaskadden, Hermann, MO; daughter in law, Andrea Kaskadden; grandchildren, Katie (Jim) Modglin, Suzanne (Chad) Bryant, Allison (Danny) Schoendienst, and Aaron (Taylor) Kaskadden; and great grandchildren, Charlotte, Kaylee, and Maddie Modglin, Elly and Jack Bryant, Kobe, Xayver, Aaryn, and Alistar Kaskadden.

Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Richard; parents, Frank and Marie; son, David; infant son, Keith; son in law, Steve Gustafson; and siblings, Shirley Mayberry and Kenneth Shrader.
