Obituary

Jean M. Paprocki, 75, of Rock Island, passed away on Sunday, November 16, 2025, at her residence. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 am, Friday at St. Pius X Catholic Church, Rock Island. Mrs. Paprocki's funeral mass will be live streamed at https://vimeo.com/1137797044/91d78c43b3 . Visitation will be on Thursday from 4 pm to 7 pm at the Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island, where a Rosary will be recited at 3 pm at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Rock Island National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Crohn's and Colitis Foundation, Women's Choice Center, Bettendorf, or to St. Pius X Catholic Church.

Jean was born on November 26, 1949, in Columbus, Nebraska, the daughter of Clifford and Rose (Hollatz) Chohon. Jean graduated from Holy Family High School in Lindsay. She then worked at Dale Electronics in Columbus. Jean married the love of her life, Eugene Paprocki on July 7, 1973, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Lindsay, NE. Jean was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church, the Altar and Rosary Society, and National Right to Life Foundation. She served on the first committee to establish the Women's Choice Center, Bettendorf, and served as a Pro Life Representative for the Diocese of Peoria. Jean had courageously battled Crohn's Disease for 55 years. She loved volunteering in her daughter-in-law's classroom and being an active part in her sons and granddaughters' lives. Jean enjoyed cooking, sewing and spending time with her family. Her faith was important to her, and she lived it every day.

Survivors include her husband, sons and daughters in law, Ted and Angie Paprocki, Silvis, and Tim and Sara Paprocki, Chicago; granddaughters, Emma and Samatha Paprocki; siblings, Vic (Doris) Chohon, Waterloo, IA., Mary (Dick) Beiermann, Columbus, NE., Dave (Mary) Chohon, Lindsay NE., Gerry (Natascha) Chohon, Lindsay, NE., and Joe (Stacy) Chohon, Columbus, NE.

Jean was preceded in death by her parents, and a sister, Susie Chohon. The family wishes to thank UnityPoint Health-Trinity, Rock Island and UnityPoint Hospice for the care they gave to Jean.
