Jeannette L. "Nettie" Brems, 78,  of Rock Island, passed away on Saturday, April 16, 2016 at St. Anthony's Continuing Care Center, Rock Island.  A memorial service in Jeannette's memory will be held at 11:00am on Thursday at the Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 3030 7th Ave., Rock Island.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the funeral home.  Inurnment will be in Rock Island National Cemetery.  Memorials may be made in care of the Activities Department at St. Anthony's or to the Alzheimer's Association.

Jeannette was born on September 12, 1937 in Rock Island, the daughter of Leon and Martha Hancq Dixon.  She married Richard Brems on September 3, 1955 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Rock Island.  Jeannette worked for Jaydon for 12 years, Von Maur for a time and in later years she worked as a housekeeper at St. Anthony's, retiring in 2004.

Jeannette loved spending time with her grandchildren and attending all of their sporting events.  She also enjoyed crocheting, photography, fishing, and going to the casino.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Richard; sons, Richard II (Betty) of Montgomery, IL, Joseph (Louann) of Moline and Jeffrey (Lori) of Kenosha, WI; grandchildren, Brian (Genna) Brems, Andrew Brems, Joseph II (Lesley) Brems, Kristina Begyn, Alexia (Aaron) Johnson and Alyssa, Hannah and Ali Brems; great grandchilren, Braeden Begyn, Kai and Eden Brems and Landon Johnson; brother, Jim (Sandy) Dixon and many nieces, nephews and other loving family members.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Don.
