Jeffrey J. Carstens, 58, of Rock Island, passed away Sunday, September 27, 2020 at UPH-Trinity, Rock Island.

A live-stream memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, October 6, 2020 at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island, and can be viewed at www.wheelanpressly.com/live-stream.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to service.  Face masks and social distancing are required.  Memorials may be made to the family.

Jeff was born on April 4, 1962 in Moline, the son of James Tobin and Jerry "Darlene" Jones.  He was later adopted by James Carstens.  He married Maureen Griffiths on June 16, 1990.  Jeff has held positions at Stanley Steamer and Crystal Clean as a carpet cleaner.  He most recently worked at Moline Housing authority doing maintenance.  He enjoyed a variety of sports and anything outdoors.  When watching sports, he rooted for the Chicago Cubs and Bears, and Iowa Hawkeyes.  The only motorcycle that he would ride would be Harley Davidson.  Jeff loved to fish and camp.  He loved Florida beaches.  Jeff believed in gun rights and freedom of speech.  He was a proud American born citizen.

Jeff is survived by his wife, Maureen Carstens; daughters, Kristie and Kathryn "Ryn" Carstens; sisters, Lynn Carstens, Julie (Daryl) Thorpe, and Jill (Ken) Adkins; and both his fathers, James Carstens and James Tobin.  He was preceded in death by his mother, Darlene Schwanz, stepmother Lynn Tobin, and brother Michael Tobin.
