Jennie L. Daniels, aged 101, of Milan, IL, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 15, 2025, at Friendship Manor in Rock Island, IL. Jennie's life was marked by her warmth, resilience, and deep affection for her family and friends. A visitation will be held on Monday, December 22, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory in Milan, followed by a service at 11:00 AM. She will be laid to rest in Chippiannock Cemetery in Rock Island. Born on January 21, 1924, in Mystic, IA, Jennie was the cherished daughter of John and Mertle (Lowe) Lord. She navigated life's joys and hardships, including the untimely passing of her first husband, James Dickey. Later, she found companionship with Earnie Daniels, with whom she shared 17 loving years. A dedicated employee of Wonder Bakery, Jennie wore many hats but was most proud of her role as a mother and grandmother. She is survived by her sons, John "Bill" (Joann) Dickey and Kenny (Laura) Dickey; daughter-in-laws, Linda Dickey and Tootie Dickey; sister, Becky, as well as numerous beloved grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren who will carry her spirit forward. Jennie is also loving remembered by her special neighborhood friends, Norm and Neeva Slaight and caregiver, Linda Robinson. Jennie was preceded in death by her three husbands; an infant daughter, Jean; sons, James and Jerry Dickey; daughter-in-law, Carol Dickey; grandchildren, Jimmy and Jerry Dickey; great-granddaughter, Deanna Koopman; and 5 siblings. As we remember Jennie, we hold dear her passion for travel, love for Western novels, and the countless memories forged through visiting with friends and family. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew her.
