Jerry L. Bleyaert, Sr., 61, of Milan, passed away Tuesday, October 27, 2020 at UnityPoint Health-Trinity, Rock Island. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Monday, November 2, 2020 at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 201 E. 4th Ave., Milan. Face masks and social distancing are required. Memorials may be made in care of the family.

Jerry was born on September 26, 1959 in Rock Island, a son of John and Sally (Pannell) Bleyaert. He worked as an arborist for over 20 years for several companies and was in the process of starting his own company, Tree Monkey Wood Worx. Jerry was known for his work ethic. You would always find him working. Above all, he loved his children and dog.

Those left to cherish his memory include his children, Jerry Bleyaert, Jr., Stephanie Bleyaert, and Kevin VanWatermeulen; mother, Sally Bleyaert (significant other, Ray); uncle, Bob Pannell; grandchildren, Layliana Bleyaert and Kamden VanWatermeulen; significant other, Sandra Fitzpatrick; step-children, Frank Fitzpatrick and Ashley Dunkirk; step-grandson, TJ; siblings, John (Sue) Bleyaert, Julie (Bob) Burns, and Jody Taylor (Dan Kennedy); and dog, Riley (better known as, Tripod).

Jerry was preceded in death by his father, John; daughter, Jera; and nephew, Spencer Taylor.
