Jerry R. "Booker" Woods, Sr., 65, of Rock Island, passed away Sunday, December 17, 2017 at UnityPoint Health Trinity, Rock Island.  A Memorial Service for Booker will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday at the Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 3030 7 ^th Ave., Rock Island.  Visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. following services on Wednesday at the funeral home.  Memorials may be made to the family.

Jerry was born on November 1, 1952 in Rock Island, the son of Sterling R. Woods and Mary Jo (Mendoza) Ramirez.   Booker worked at the former JI Case plant in Rock Island for 20 years.  He greatly enjoyed music and spending time with his family.

Left to cherish his memory are his mother, Mary Jo; children, Jerry, Jr., Nathan, Charlene, Richard and Antonio Woods; grandchildren, Aaron, Anthony, Zachary, Alysia, Shiloh and Trinity Woods; great grandchildren, Alec, Corey and Elijah; and many other loving family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father.
