Jerry L. Geisler, 83, of Rock Island, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at the OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home, in Peoria.

A brief visitation will be held from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm, with a funeral service to follow at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, at the Knox Chapel of Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, 2106 7th Ave, Rock Island. Entombment will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Memorials may be made to the Richard L. Owens Hospice Home, Peoria.

Jerry was born on August 6, 1942, in Rock Island, a son of William and Evelyn (Barr) Geisler. He proudly served in the United States Army Infantry from 1964 to 1966, which included a combat tour in Vietnam. He was a former employee of the Rock Island County Highway Department. Jerry later worked in asbestos abatement and retired from Local 207.

He enjoyed going to stock car races, watching the Rock Island Rocks basketball & football teams, spending time with grandchildren, and visiting local restaurants.

Those left to cherish Jerry's memory include his children, Kimberly (Dustin) Barnett and Travis (Kristi) Geisler; grandchildren, Alyssa, Brooke, Madelyn, and Wyatt; siblings, Patricia Mueller, Richard (Vivian) Geisler, and Donald (Becky) Geisler; sister-in-law, Marcia Geisler; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, William and Evelyn (Barr) Geisler, and his older brother, William Geisler Jr.

His family wishes to thank his caregiver, Sam Garlough, and home health nurse, Melissa Butler, for the countless hours of time and care they provided to Jerry.
