Jerry L. Reimers, 70, of Rock Island, peacefully passed away Tuesday, November 4, 2014 at his home.

Funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, November 8, 2014, at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, 3030 7th Ave., Rock Island. Visitation will be held from 4 PM to 7 PM on Friday, November 7, 2014 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery, Rock Island. Memorials may be made to the Edgington Presbyterian Church Food Pantry, the American Cancer Society, or a charity of the donor's choice.

Jerry was born March 12, 1944, in Muscatine, IA, the son of Edward and Irene (Fick) Reimers. He married Patricia Arnold on February 20, 1965 in Rock Island. Jerry was employed by Brinks Inc. for 40 years, retiring in 2009.

Jerry worked on his Uncle's farms throughout his childhood and teenage years. He was an avid Chicago Bears and Cubs fan. Jerry also enjoyed collecting toy farm equipment, attending antique tractor shows, and spending time with his family, friends, and especially his soul mate Pat.

Jerry will be remembered by his wife of 49 years Patricia Reimers, Rock Island; his son, James (Carrie) Reimers, Milan; his grandchildren, Cameron Strayhall, Mackenzie Reimers, and Cade Reimers; and his siblings, Janet (Fred) Anderson, Auburn, PA, Kenneth (Mick) Arnold, Rock Island, Marvin (Linda) Arnold, Milan, Marry (Denny) Gottwalt, Hampton, Lois (John) Honeycutt, East Moline. He was preceded in death by his parents and his daughter Connie Strayhall.
