Jess E. Torres, 42, of Matherville, died Wednesday, February 23, 2022 at UnityPoint Health – Trinity Rock Island.  Cremation rites were accorded.  A celebration of life gathering will take place from 4-7 pm Monday, March 7, 2022 at Ruby's Beers Bikes and Brats, 429 E. 3rd Street, Davenport, Iowa.  Memorials may be made in care of the family.  Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Milan, is assisting the family.

Jess was born in Moline, Illinois on September 21, 1979, a son of Jesus and Lennie Owen Torres.  He married Melissa Redpath on August 14, 2004 in Milan, Illinois.

Jess was a metal worker and specialized in plating.  He was currently working at the Rock Island Arsenal and previously worked for Meminger in Aledo.

Jess was an avid shooter who would frequent Shooting Sports, Moline and the outdoor range in Princeton, Iowa.  He loved being with his children and especially loved spending time with his granddaughter, Isabella.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Melissa Torres, Matherville; children, Alexia, Angelina, Gabriella and Jesus "Jess" Torres, all of Matherville; mother, Lennie Daymude, Milan; granddaughter, Isabella Rogan; brother, Chris (Cassie) Torres, Rock Island; and half-sister, Rosario Torres, Mexico City, Mexico.

He was preceded in death by his father, grandparents and half-brother, Augustino Torres.
