March 29, 1941 – August 6, 2015
Jo-Ann "Joannie" Geifman, 74, of Bettendorf passed away Thursday evening, August 6th, at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf, surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with cancer.

Joannie was born on March 29, 1941 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to parents Dr. David and Sarah (Bass) Zubatsky. She was a graduate of White Fish Bay High School and the University of Wisconsin. Joannie married Richard Geifman on June 7, 1964. Last summer they celebrated their 50th anniversary with a renewal of their vows in the presence of their children and grandchildren.
Joannie never turned down an opportunity to volunteer or help wherever needed. Her volunteer activities included acting as school room-parent, working as a hospital volunteer, visiting and delivering food to shut-ins, and helping at her Synagogue. Joannie took an active interest in her community.
Joannie loved the outdoors. She enjoyed tending to her flower and vegetable gardens, walking along the beach, and hiking with her husband. Above all, Joannie cherished spending time with her family. She was a devoted wife and mother, adored grandmother, and treasured friend.
Joannie is survived by her husband of 51 years, Richard, Bettendorf; children, David (Elizabeth) Geifman, Northbrook, Ill., Jeffrey (Nicki) Geifman, Bethesda, Md., Steven (Joni) Geifman, Bettendorf; and eight grandchildren, Max, Talia, Sophie, Isaac, Sydney, Jack, Ethan, and Stella; as well as a nephew, nieces, cousins and extended family.
