IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Joan (Lowe)
Fisher
September 21, 1933 – June 10, 2025
Joan Fisher, 91, of Davenport, Iowa, formerly of Milan, Illinois, passed away on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, at Senior Star Senior Living in Davenport. Born in Urmston, England, on September 21, 1933, she was the beloved daughter of Norman and Hilda Evans Lowe. She married her cherished husband, Charles "Charlie" Fisher, on October 23, 1951, in Rock Island, Illinois. Their bond was a testament to enduring love until he preceded her in death on April 29, 2008. In her earlier years, Joan embraced the role of a devoted homemaker, nurturing her family. Later, she contributed to her community by working for the Sherrard School District at the Coyne Center Grade School, where she touched many lives. An avid animal lover, Joan found joy in bird watching and was a familiar face at dog shows throughout the years. However, her greatest joy came from her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, whom she cherished immensely. She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, David (Sally) Fisher of Milan and Dale (Christine) Fisher of Rock Island; grandchildren Christopher, Carrie, Andrew, Erin, Nick, Molly, and Josh; step-grandchildren Shaun and Katie; great-grandchildren Banaster, Lafayette, Kyler, Evan, Braydan, Carston, Kendrick, Cohen, Hudson, Korben, Finley, Joanie, and Charles; step great-grandchildren Maddy, Austin, Gus, and Parsa; as well as her brothers, Peter and Ray Lowe. Joan was preceded in death by her husband, parents, grandson Jeremy Fisher, and sister Margaret Barton. A celebration of Joan's remarkable life will take place on Saturday, June 14, 2025, with a funeral service scheduled for 10:30 AM at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, located at 201 E. 4th Avenue, Milan. Prior to the service, friends and family are invited to gather for visitation from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM. Following the service, Joan will be laid to rest at Chippiannock Cemetery in Rock Island, Illinois. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to all of Joan's caretakers and aides, who became not only providers of care but dear friends throughout the years. Memorial contributions may be made in Joan's honor to the QC Animal Welfare Center in Milan.
