Joan M. Jeffery, 80, of Rock Island, IL passed away on Thursday, July 28, 2022 at her daughter's home under the care of hospice, surrounded by family. Visitation will be from 9-11 AM with the funeral service following at 11 AM on Wednesday, August 3, 2022 at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island. The service will be livestreamed at 11AM CST. Burial at Rock Island Memorial Park. Memorials may be left to the family.

Joan was born on May 11, 1942 to Ralph and Hazel (Butler) Christensen in Moline, IL. She grew up in Rock Island and attended Rock Island High School.

On October 6, 1979 she married Phillip "Bud" Jeffery in Rock Island where the couple made their home and raised their children. They remained married until his passing in 2015.

Joan worked at Larson Funeral Home and later at Servus Rubber/Norcross until her retirement. She liked to keep busy so she then began working for the Rock Island School System until her health declined.

Joan loved to go shopping, especially yard sales. Although, spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren was the highlight of her life.

She's survived by her children, Becky (Pat) Torrence, Larry Jett, Mike Jett, Jerry Jett, Danny (Leslie) Jeffery, Richard Jeffery, Cindy (Chuck) Fierst; 25 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; siblings, Darlene (Dave) Liedtke, David Christensen, and Teresa (Andy) Olson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Phillip; son, Steven John Jett; daughter, Lorinda "Lindy" Jett; and daughter-in-law, Tina Jett.
