Joan E. Morford, 76, of Sherrard, Illinois passed away Thursday December 2, 2021 at her home surrounded by her family.

Funeral services will be at 10:00am Tuesday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory in Milan, Illinois. Visitation will be from 3:00pm - 6:00pm Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be at the Illinois City Cemetery following the funeral services. Memorials may be left to the Illinois City Methodist Church, Shriners International, or the Quad City Animal Welfare Center.

Joan was born on January 2, 1945 in Albany, Wisconsin the only child and daughter of John William Robinson and Clara (Zurfluh) Robinson.

Joan was raised on a farm where she had many animals she loved. She attended a one-room schoolhouse, often riding her beloved horse to get there, through the fifth grade. She later graduated from Unionville Missouri High School. She married William Morford on October 24, 1969.

Joan was previously employed through Buddy L. Toy Manufacturing and Dayco Corporation for 17 years.

Joan loved her flowers and gardening. She belonged to the Rock Island Horticultural Club for many years. Joan loved cooking and adding to her extensive cookbook collection. She also enjoyed camping, traveling, hosting dinners and holiday events, but most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family.

Survivors include her husband, William (Bill) Morford of Sherrard, Illinois; five children, Steve (Diane) Morford of Muscatine, Iowa; Kelly (Raine) Morford of Davenport, Iowa; John (Susan) Morford of Muscatine, Iowa; Randy (Brenda) Morford of Aledo, Illinois; and Tim (Alycia) Morford of Hillsboro, Illinois; 16 grandchildren; and 7 great grandchildren

She was preceded in death by both her parents and one grandson, David Morford.
