Joan B. DePaepe, 76, of Milan, died Friday, March 10, 2017 at UnityPoint Health - Trinity Rock Island.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, Milan.  A rosary will be recited at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday followed by visitation from 4-7 p.m. at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Milan.  Burial will be at Rock Island National Cemetery, Arsenal Island.  Memorials may be made in care of St. Ambrose Catholic Church or the Milan Christian Food Pantry.

Joan was born in Davenport, Iowa on January 7, 1941, a daughter of Hubert C. and Evelyn P. Semelroth Rose.  She graduated from Davenport Central High School in 1959.  She married Frank R. DePaepe in Rock Island on July 1, 1961.  He preceded her in death on July 16, 2016.

Joan was a member at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, Milan and very active with the Milan Christian Food Pantry.  She enjoyed flower gardening, going to garage sales and taking her dog for walks.

Survivors include her sons, William F. DePaepe, Huber Heights, Ohio and Todd J. (fiance Diane R. Hart) DePaepe, Rock Island; brothers-in-law, James Santry and Milton Almquist; sister-in-law, Joan Grothusen; several nieces and nephews; and her beloved beagle, Buddy.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, James M. DePaepe; half-sisters, June Thomas, Marge Almquist and Alvia Dunbar; brothers-in-law Bob Thomas and Keith Grothusen; and sister-in-law Janet Santry.
