Joann C. Young, 76, of Rock Island, passed away on Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf. Services for Mrs. Young will be 11 am, Friday at the Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island. There will be no visitation. Burial will be in the Rock Island Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to National Multiple Sclerosis Society or to Fifteenth Avenue Christian Church, Rock Island. Joann was born on February 14, 1941 in Rock Island, the daughter of Raymond and Agnes (Benedict) Beane. She married Donald Young on January 13, 1962 in Rock Island. Joann worked as a key punch operator at Modern Woodman of America Insurance Co., Rock Island. Joann was a member of Fifteenth Avenue Christian Church. She had previously been a member of Memorial Christian Church, Rock Island. Joann enjoyed doing crossword puzzles. Survivors include her husband, Donald; daughters, Angela Young, Carbon Cliff and Sheri (Bill) McBride, Colona; and a granddaughter, Katelynn.
