Joanne Davenport, 89, of Andalusia, passed away Saturday, December 24, 2022, at UnityPoint Health-Trinity, Rock Island. Per her wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Milan is assisting the family with arrangements. Inurnment will be in Rock Island National Cemetery, Arsenal Island at a later date.

Joanne was born March 18, 1933, to Walter and Ethel (Giffin) Peterson. She graduated from Viola High School in 1951. Joanne then married Robert L. "Bob" Davenport on February 23, 1952, at Viola United Presbyterian Church. She worked at the Bituminous Insurance Company for several years before retiring. Joanne enjoyed cooking and baking. She also liked reading, boating, and traveling.

Those left to honor Joanne's memory include her husband of 70 years, Bob; daughters, Tracy (John) Patterson, Bentonville, Arkansas, Laurie (Rick) Finch, Andalusia, and Tia (Bill) Woods, Englewood, Florida; grandchildren, Erin Trampel, Bryan Patterson, Cody Finch, Emily Azinger, and Allyson Woods; and great-grandchildren, Payton, Corbin, and one more on the way.

Joanne was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Carroll Lee Peterson; and uncle, Orville Peterson.
