Joanne DeMaught, 94, of Moline, passed away on Sunday, October 26, 2014 at her home. Services for Joanne will be 10 am, Thursday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Moline. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4 pm to 7 pm at the Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, Rock Island. Burial will be in the Rock Island National Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Alleman High School Endowment Fund.

Joanne was born on July 30, 1920 in Moline, the daughter of Orville and Maizie Woodhull Carsell. She married Maurice DeMaught on August 19, 1939 in Clinton, Iowa. He preceded her in death on November 3, 1996. Joanne worked as a bookkeeper for Moline Body Company for 30 years, retiring in 1975. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Moline. Joanne enjoyed reading, traveling with her husband and spending time with her family. She also enjoyed an occasional margarita.

Survivors include her son and daughter in law, Dennis and Pamela DeMaught, Rock Island; granddaughters, Laurie (Brandon) Klugger, Rock Island and Kelsey DeMaught, Rock Island; great grandchildren, Mackenzie and Brady Klugger, Rock Island; a brother, James (Carolyn) Carsell, Moline; special sister in law, Lorraine Carsell, Silvis; many nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews.
