Joe Lee Jones, 79, of Davenport, passed away Tuesday, January 10, 2023, at his residence surrounded by his family.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, January 17, 2023 at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island and can be viewed via livestream at www.wheelanpressly.com/live-stream. Visitation will be hour prior to service. Memorials may be made to the family.
Joe was born on May 10, 1943, in Paducah, MS, the son of Joseph Lee Jones and Edna (Walker) Martin. He married Candy Lee in 2004. He retired from John Deere Inc. Joe was the king of the dance floor and a sharp dresser. He was into luxury sports cars and knew how to fix anything. People looked up to Joe and admired his kind hearted soul.
Joe is survived by his wife, Candy Jones; mother, Edna Martin; children, Darick (Kenia) Jones, Dean Porter, Troy Mallet, Jerri (Whitney) Jones, Jonika (Derrick) Jones, Ronald Hearn and Thomas Ellis; adopted sons, Jeremiah Jones and Cortez Collier; sister, Edna (Williams) Trice; the mother of Darick, Faith, and Joe Jr., Charlotte Jones; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and sister and brother-in-laws.
He was preceded in death by his father; brother, Joe Lewis Jones; daughter, Faith Combs; son, Joe "Bugz" L. Jones Jr; and step son, Andrell Hearn. Online condolences may be left to Joe's family at www.wheelanpressly.com.
