Joette L. Heymann, 79, of Andalusia, passed away on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at Allure of the Quad Cities in Moline.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory in Milan. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the family.
Joette was born on July 14, 1947, in Muscatine, Iowa, the daughter of Sherman and Lorraine (Brunson) Powell. She married Thomas L. Heymann on July 2, 1966, in Illinois. From that union she had two children, Brian and Lisa.
Joette was employed at the former Eagles facility in Milan, the Little Debbie Distribution Center in Muscatine, and the former Farmall Works in Rock Island. She formed lasting friendships throughout her career and cherished her memories from each workplace.
From a young age, Joette found joy in family and carried that love with her throughout her life. She especially cherished the time she spent with her grandparents and held dear the memories made on the Powell family farm, a place that remained close to her heart. She was a great storyteller and had an excellent sense of humor.Her greatest happiness came from spending time with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed antiquing and had a deep appreciation for history, often finding joy in the stories and connections that came with it.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Brian (Jamie) Heymann of Edgington and Lisa (Mike) Ryckaert of Taylor Ridge; and her grandchildren, Alexis, Sydney, Gracie, Ethan, Aiden, Bailee, Taylor, Kylie and Quin. She is also remembered by her siblings, Louis Powell, Margaret Oakland, and Debbie Bowen; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Sherman and Lorraine; and her siblings, Sherman Powell III, Harold Powell, Rick Powell, and Dianna Martin.
Joette will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her, and her memory will live on in the family she cherished so dearly.
