John H. Greer, Jr. 53, of Rock Island, was peacefully called home on Tuesday January 5, 2021.

Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 19, at Word of Life Church, 1804 7th Avenue, Rock Island, to be followed by a private family service. Arrangements are entrusted to Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island. Current guidance for public gatherings regarding wearing of face masks, social distancing and capacity limitations will be observed by those attending.

John was born July 14, 1967 in Rock Island, a son of John H. Greer, Sr. and Ethel Lee Greer. John was well known as "Brick". He enjoyed cooking, fishing, dogs, sports cars, working out and all sports. He worked at Kraft/Heinz, and had a certificate in business management and was a fork truck operator.

Brick was a phenomenal father, grandfather, brother and loyal person to many. He leaves to cherish his memory are his daughters, Latesa (Delbert) Blake, Britany, Eboni and Iesha Coppage, Tionjanay Greer, Jonesha and LaMiracle Clay; sons, John III, Mario and DaJion Greer; fiancé, Tori White; ten siblings; eight grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He is preceded in death by his mother; a grandchild, MaLiza and a cousin, Deon.
