John Michael Hebbeln, 74, of Canyon Lake, Calif., passed away Saturday, August 6th in the comfort of his own home under the care of a wonderful hospice team.  A graveside service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Cable Cemetery, Cable, Ill.  Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Milan, is assisting the family locally.  A long-time resident of Matherville, IL, John attended Sherrard High School in Sherrard, IL.  He graduated from St. Ambrose University in Davenport, Iowa and the University of Chicago where he earned a Masters in Social Work (MSW).  John dedicated his life to the service of those in the communities he lived as a dedicated social worker.  Family, friends and acquaintances are welcome to attend.  He is survived by his wife Lorna and sons Mark (Beth) and Aaron (Amy) Hebbeln.  He was also the proud grandfather of Catherine, Michael, Will and Bennett Hebbeln.
