John Edward Jawoisz, 55, died March 25, 2016, in Phoenix, Ariz.

A memorial mass will be 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Rock Island.  Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, East Moline.  Memorials may be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church, Rock Island.

He was born on March 21, 1961, in Moline, to Edward and Elaine Jawoisz. He graduated from Rock Island High School and the Academy of Radio and Broadcasting in Phoenix. He worked as an audio tech and camera operator with Cox Communications for the Suns Game Time Show, KUTP Channel 45, and most recently at Jobing.com Arena as a tape op for the Phoenix Coyote hockey games. One of his most favorite positions was with AZTV, where he worked on the live daily Pat McMahon Show.

JJ was preceded in death by a sister, Julie Jawoisz. He is survived by his parents, Edward and Elaine; sisters, Jeri Lauer, Rock Island, Jody Rivett, Phoenix, and Joni Gates, Phoenix.
