Keck
October 12, 1941 – February 26, 2019
John Anthony Keck, 77, of Rock Island died in his home on February 26th, 2019.
John was born October 12, 1941, in Quincy, Illinois to George and Lavonne (Kennedy) Keck.
Service's celebrating John's life will be held 11am Saturday at Wheelan Pressly Funeral Home, Rock Island. Visitation will be 10 until services.
John attended Quincy High School in Quincy, IL until 1957.
After enlisting into the Air Force, at age 19, John went on to work at Electric Wheel where he
develop his skills as a welder. He continued to be a welder at George Evans in Moline, IL until his retirement in 2001.
John is survived by his wife, Pam of Rock Island, and his children; Monty Robertson and wife Susan of Elkland, MO; Kim Ortiz and husband Steve of Milan, IL; Wendy Proctor and husband Charlie of Fair Play, MO; Johnna Brothers and husband Sam of Tarboro, NC.
John is also survived by his 9 grandchildren: Ashley Pratt, Alyssa Denato, Bailey Robertson, and Aly Robertson; Tyler VanWinkle; Carlie Proctor; Sam Hoxsey, Nicholas Hoxsey, and Mallory Brothers and 3 great grandchildren: Jace, Jaxin, and Jerrison.
He is also survived by his 4 siblings: Sharon Otto and husband Jim; Georgian Ballard and husband Bill; Bill Keck and wife Michelle; and Gary Wager and wife Roxana. Many cousins, nieces, and nephews. John was proceeded in death by his parents.
John enjoyed visiting with family and friends. He loved hanging out at the Katie Did in its day, and then the Rock Island Boat Club enjoying a Bud Light. He was a fantastic bowler, as well as an avid pool and dart player. He loved sitting on his front porch watching over the neighborhood, and spending time with his dog Lucas. He enjoyed watching the Cubs play, Nascar, and golf on TV.
