Rev. John L. Kindschuh, 92, of Rock Island, died Friday, February 15th, 2019 at Silver Cross Nursing Center in Rock Island.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 27th at First Lutheran Church, 1230 5th Avenue, Moline Illinois. Family will greet friends following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Augustana College, Rock Island or to First Lutheran Church, Moline.  Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island is assisting the family.

John was born to Emil and Ebba Fredstrom Kindschuh on November 10, 1926 in Oakland Nebraska. He married Delores "Lolly" Hall on December 16th, 1949 in Lincoln, Nebraska.

Rev. Kindschuh graduated from Luther Junior College in Wahoo, Neb. He graduated from Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, Minn. He was ordained from the Augustana Theological Seminary, Rock Island. Rev. Kindschuh received a master's degree from The University of Michigan. He served Lutheran congregations in Tempe, Ariz., and Burlington, Iowa. Rev. Kindschuh retired from Augustana College, Rock Island after 40 years in administrative posts; he served on multiple boards and was active in the Quad City Community.

Survivors include his wife of 69 years, Lolly; sons and daughter-in-law, John "Jack" Kindschuh, and Dr. Peter and Gayle Kindschuh; daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Paul Wolf; grandchildren, John (Cindy) Kindschuh, Janet (Jeff) Kindschuh, Jeff (Salena) Kindschuh, Sarah (Nate) Kindschuh-Gill, Mary Kindschuh, and Hillary Kindschuh, four great-grandchildren; and a sister, Dorothy. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Gene and Dave Kindschuh; and daughter-in-law, Dr. Pamela Johnson.
