Obituary

John Henry Kludy, 72, of Cedar Rapids, formerly of Rock Island, died Sunday, January 24, 2016 at his home. Services will be 10 a.m. Friday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home & Crematory, Rock Island. Visitation will be from 5 - 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Chippiannock Cemetery, Rock Island, where military honors will be presented. Memorials may be made in care of the Wounded Warrior Project.

John was born in Rock Island on January 11, 1944, a son of Clarence and Clara Hess Kludy. He graduated from Davenport Central High School in 1962.

John served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He worked as a forklift operator for Quaker Oats and retired in 2003.

John enjoyed dancing, cooking and listening to Polka music.

Survivors include his siblings, Dureen Sprague, Adams, Wisc., Neal (Lauraine) Kludy, Mesa, Ariz. and William Kludy, Davenport.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Beatrice Lord, Delores Reetz, Laura May and Roselind Stice and brothers, Rawllen, Edward and James Kludy.
