John R. Lee, 57, Milan, IL passed away Monday, April 29, 2024 at UnityPoint-Trinity Hospital in Rock Island. Visitation will be 12-3:00 PM on Sunday, May 5, 2024 at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Milan. The funeral will be 10:00 AM, Monday, May 6, 2024 at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the family. John was born December 11, 1966 to Barbara (Fronk) and Robert Lee Jr. in Geneseo, IL. After graduating from Rocky, he enlisted in Army. Following his service, John returned to the Quad Cities. He was recently working as a machinist at John Deere where he had been employed for over 15 years. John loved talking shop with his dad who had retired from Deere. On September 23, 2006, John was united in marriage to Crystal Hancq in Milan where the couple made their home. John was an avid fisherman who loved catching catfish at the Steel Dam. He also enjoyed tending to his garden and every summer canned countless tomatoes with his wife. Pool was another one of his favorite hobbies. He played on many leagues over the years. But John's favorite thing to do was spend time with his family, especially his brothers. They were inseparable growing up and loved reminiscing about their shenanigans. John will be remembered as a soft-hearted man who was always caring and generous to his family and friends. John is survived by his wife, Crystal; parents, Barbara and Robert Lee Jr.; children, Suzanne Lee, Christopher Waddell, Joshua Waddell, Cameron (Susana) Waddell, Tyler Lee and Brandi Lee; granddaughter, Christina Waddell; brothers, Curt (Roz) Lee and Robert (Pam) Lee III; numerous nieces, nephews, and many friends.
