IN LOVING MEMORY OF
John M.
Deloose
September 16, 1946 – March 6, 2022
John DeLoose was called home on March 6, 2022 in Davenport, IA surrounded by his loved ones. Funeral services will be 10am Saturday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island. Visitation will be from 4:00 - 7:00pm Friday at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Rock Island. Memorials may be left to St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Milan.
John was born September 16,1946 to John L and Norma Jean (Johnson) Deloose. He was a graduate of Alleman High School. He married the love of his life Sherry Holmes June 12, 1971 in Milan, Il. To this union his pride and joys were born, his two boys John and Mikey. Sherry preceded him in death in 1980. John continued to love her "Till the Twelfth of Never". John was employed by Case IH. He was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Milan, National Wild Turkey Federation, Rock Island Conservation Club and Friends Circle Club, Moline. John was a man of great faith and a true believer in family values. He believed if you had faith and family you walked this earth a wealthy man. John loved spending time with his family, especially watching his grandchildren play soccer. He was also a avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. He looked forward to family gatherings and enjoyed his Christmas tradition of stockings with candy and fruit and pajamas for all of the kids. In recent years he enjoyed traveling, going out to eat, and church with his companion Vicki Lude. John lived his life selflessly always wanting to do for others. If he was ever needed he was there without question. This will be something his family will miss most. His presence, knowing he would be there, for every birthday, holiday, anytime of need, sadness, or loss. Surprise visits just to check in while he was out for a drive. He always made himself present, to hear the chatter of kids, shrill of grandkids, nieces, and nephews. The more family the happier he was.
Survivors include his two sons, John C. DeLoose, Rock Island, Michael ( Christine) DeLoose, Viola, Christina (Jeremy) Garner, Kiethsburg; grandchildren, Sherry Lynn DeLoose, Makayla Lynn DeLoose, Kian DeLoose, Quinn DeLoose, Devin Garner and Derek Garner; sister, Jacqulin Shore, California.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Sherry; parents, John L. and Norma; brothers, James "Apple" DeLoose, Jerry DeLoose and a sister, Jodi.
