John L. McCormick, 76, of Rock Island, passed away Monday October 11, 2021 at his home.

Visitation will be Friday from 4:00-7:00pm at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Milan. Graveside services will be held Saturday at 1:00pm at Graceland Cemetery, Webster City, Iowa. Memorials may be left to Unity Point Hospice.

John was born on August 5, 1945 in Moline, the son of John and Enid (Stahl) McCormick. He was a graduate of Blackhawk College, Moline. John married Susie Heidick on March 9, 1985 in the Little Brown Church, Nashua, Iowa.

Mr. McCormick had been employed for over 27 years with the Rock Island Jail as a Lieutenant on 3rd shift. He had also been active with the Civil Air Patrol and Rock Island Police Auxiliary.

Survivors include his wife, Susie; daughter, Holly (Craig) Buckholtz, Texas; 6 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; son in law, Moji Hosseini; brother in law, Donald Zehner; nephew, Chip Zehner.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Enid; daughter, Shelley Hosseini; infant brother; and sister in law, Margie Zehner.
