John was born on July 7, 1994 in Silvis, a son of John Mote III and Wendy Keely. John worked for Walmart in Silvis. He enjoyed X-Box and the X-Box community as TackledJM4. He also enjoyed spending time with family playing board games, going swimming, and bowling. Not many people knew that he loved to sing. He loved animals especially his cats Jay and Artic.
Survivors include his father, John Mote III, East Moline; mother, Wendy Keely and Stepmother Nicole Miller Davenport; sister, Rashel Mote, East Moline; girlfriend, Abigail Hahn, East Moline; grandfather, William Keely, Colona; aunts Sarah Keely and Mandy Keely, Colona; uncle Ed Mote, Milan; uncle Dennis Mote, Davenport.
John was preceded in death by his grandparents, John Jr. and Donna Mote, Kim Keely; aunt, Tina Shaffer; uncle David Mote.
Before they were even dating Abigail would message him saying, "Good morning Sunshine." It was funny because he always woke up later in the day. This turned into her singing to him whenever he was down or not feeling well, "You are my sunshine, my only sunshine. You make me happy when skies are gray. You never know dear, how much I love you. Please don't take my sunshine away."
