John "Danny" D. O'Brien, 65, of Bettendorf, passed away Sunday, June 28, 2015 at his residence.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, July 6, 2015 at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, 201 E. 4th Ave., Milan. Visitation will be held 9:00 am until service time. Burial will be at National Cemetery, Rock Island. Memorials may be made to the family.

John was born April 24, 1950, the son of John M. and Roberta (Cavanaugh) O'Brien. He married Antoinette McGrath in July of 1987 in County Limerick, Ireland, but later separated. John worked as a machinist at Farmall. He also served our country in the United States Marine Corp.

John is survived by his siblings, Bernadette (Stephen) Morford, Bettendorf, IA, Phil O'Brien, Chicago, Beth O'Brien, Denver, CO, Joan O'Brien, Moline, Dennis (Penny) O'Brien, Naperville, IL, Patrick (Cecilia) O'Brien, Moline, and Matt O'Brien, Moline; and nieces and nephews, Kate Scott, Rock Island, Kelly Sidor, Chicago, Spencer O'Brien, Las Vegas, NV, and Tierney O'Brien, Chicago. He was preceded in death by his parents.
