John Patrick, 80, of Milan, passed away Monday January 22, 2024 at his home.

Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00pm Thursday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 3030 7th Avenue, Rock Island. Funeral services will be held Friday at 1:00pm at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral home and Crematory, 201 E. 4th Avenue, Milan. Burial will follow in Beulah Cemetery. Memorials may be left to the family.

John was born on August 13, 1943 in Albia, Iowa, the son of Loren and Vallee (Baugh) Patrick. He married Jolene Hergert on June 12, 1971 in Beulah Church.

He was a proud United States Army Veteran having served during the Vietnam Era.

John had been employed as a Iron worker with Local 111 for 28 years until his retirement in 1999 and had been a member of Local 111 for 52 years..

He was a member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, Milan and the Milan American Legion Post 569.

John loved spending time with his family, fishing and hunting pheasant and mushrooms. He was also an avid Chicago Bears and Cubs fan. He loved watching his favorite tv show MASH and old westerns.

Survivors include his wife, Jolene, Milan; son, Joshua (Kristine) Patrick, Moline; daughter, Jamie Boinski, Oquawka; grandsons, Esteban "Steve" (Julia) Monreal, Stanwood, Washington, Trenton Bennett, Oquawka; one great grandchild on the way; brother, Terry (Debbie) Patrick, Milan; sister, Mary Lou Taylor, Milan; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Linda Shields.
