Obituary
John C. VanOoteghem, 60, of Sherrard, died Friday, June 17, 2016 at his home. Per John's wishes, there will be no services. Cremation rites have been accorded. Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home & Crematory, Rock Island, is assisting the family.
John was born in Davenport on June 22, 1955, a son of Charles C. and Marian Treeharn VanOoteghem.
He worked for the Pipefitters Local Union 597 for forty years.
Survivors include his daughters, Kristin (Bobby) Richardson, Channahon, Ill. and Marian VanOoteghem, Plainfield, Ill.; grandsons, Austin and Blake Richardson; and siblings, Sarah (Myron) Litwiller, Zionsville, Ind., Cecilia (Dave) Brentz, Arden Hills, Minn., Anne VanOoteghem, Rock Island and Jim (Wendy) VanOoteghem, Seneca, S.C.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a niece, Laura Litwiller.
