Johnny Bishop Tingle, age 78, of Rock Island, IL, passed away on May 2, 2025 in Katy, TX. He was born on April 14, 1947 in Moline, IL to Thomas (Sr.) and Mary Tingle.

Johnny graduated from Rock Island High School and then entered the Air Force in 1965. He was stationed in Dover, DE and honorably discharged in 1972. He married Yvonne Schwarz in 1969 and had two children, Tami and Jennifer. He had a career in manufacturing and maintenance in Kansas, Iowa, Illinois and Texas. He also owned a cafe with his wife in Bennett, IA. He retired with Yvonne in 2013 and traveled the country with their RV trailer, ultimately deciding to winter in Texas starting in 2014.

Johnny will lovingly be missed by his wife of 55 years, Yvonne; daughter, Jennifer (Brandon) Crawford; brother, Paul (Nancy) Tingle; sister-in-law, Paula (David) Pratt; grandchildren, Andrew (Becca) Geyssens, Jason Geyssens and Samantha (Oscar Lepe) Geyssens; two great-grandchildren, James and Eleanor; and numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins. He will also be dearly missed by his many friends.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, June 14, 2025 at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Milan, with visitation to be held an hour prior to the service at church. Inurnment will be in Rock Island Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Milan, IL or Trinity Lutheran Church, Sealy, TX.
